The Best Tips For Clear, Healthy Skin

Friday 6 June 2014

We all long for clear skin that looks healthy and glowing. Make these tips your priority if you want beautiful blemish free skin.

Food/Diet

What you consume in your body shows on the outside, hence the clear fact if you eat badly you gain weight and if you eat healthier you maintain a slim, healthy figure. The exact same applies to your skin.

If you consume bad foods; have takeaways regularly, eat chocolate.. You may find your skin isn't reacting well to it by becoming oily and having blemishes appear. Try changing up your diet, begin to eat fruit and veg such as these few examples;

Berries(Blackberry, strawberry, blueberry etc) - these have great skin clearing antioxidants and reduce inflammation. Berries are really nice to include in the morning with your porridge or as a snack throughout the day.

Tomatoes - Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C, which helps to keep the skin firm and taut by aiding collagen production. They also contain "lycopene" technical but its basically the red pigment in the tomato. Not only does it give them their bright red colour, but also stimulates skin circulation.

Red Grapes - It is thought that red grapes and their seeds contain powerful natural chemicals and antioxidants that have been shown to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

Avocado - This slippery green fruit is widely known to be a great source of vitamin E, which boosts the skin’s vitality and luminosity. However, it also possesses good quantities of vitamin C, which can be used to reduce skin inflammation.

Cinnamon and Honey Tea

After my mum had been drinking Cinnamon and Honey tea for a few weeks, I ended up reading up on it to see the health benefits and there are many, including the skin.

I have seen a mass difference in the way my skin looks and feels. I have never had a real issue with blemishes, I used to get some here and there but nothing major, even so I thought to try this tea out for all the health benefits it has.

  • Add one teaspoon of cinnamon and pour boiling water in to the mug, then let it sit for around half an hour.
  • Then add a teaspoon of honey.
  • Stir your concoction and drink half at night before bed and the other half in the morning on an empty stomach.

This is proven to aid weight loss too.

Egg Mask For The Face

Eggs are heaven sent when it comes to your skins appearance. If you want fast results then look this way..

  • Crack an egg and split the the egg whites and egg yolk in separate bowls. Use the egg whites and apply to the whole of the face or you can even apply to an affected area such as a pesky little blemish.
  • Let the egg white dry, you will feel it become firm and tight. Keeping the egg whites on for as long as you can is the most beneficial and this is where you will see immediate results, but if you don't have the time then apply and leave on until dry then wash off with warm water.
  • Try do this everyday but if not 3/4 times a week will do the world of good.

Beauty Products

Finally is the beauty products you apply on to your skin, although what you consume is the most important, beauty products play a big part in what your skin will look like.

  • Face wash - Its always important to wash your face, even if you don't wear makeup as oil and dirt will be on your face from throughout the day. This will just make sure your skin is squeaky clean for the application of your skin products. Wash in the morning and at night.

I use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash and Mask

  • Serum - After your face wash you want to apply a serum. Serums are highly concentrated and extremely potent. They contain around from 10-15 times more of the active ingredients than skin care creams. Facial serum’s have the ability to reach deep layers of the skin which means it can help battle many common beauty complaints. Applying it to clean skin will allow it to go deep in to the skin and work it's magic.

The serum I use is Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

  • Eye Cream - Let your Serum sink in to the skin then apply an eye cream. Applying an eye cream is really beneficial as over time signs of aging become apparent around the delicate eye area the underlying tissue thins and loses elasticity, causing a loss of firmness and the eyelids to droop. Eye creams can lift eyelids, firm skin around eyes, and reduce puffiness if applied regularly.

Currently using the Boots Botanics Radiant Youth Hydrating Eye Cream

  • Moisturizer - Finally you want to apply your moisturizer to the whole of your face and down on to the neck. Applying moisturizer to the skin is going to lock in your serum and make it work more effectively. It will make your skin balance the oils if you have oiliness on your face, providing you use the right moisturizer for your skin type. If you have drier skin, a moisturizer will add moisture to your skin to prevent it being dry and causing flaking of the skin.

I use the L'OrĂ©al Paris Triple Active Anti-Shine Mattifying Hydrating Moisturizer

I'm really loving this combo of products, they have been making a difference to my skin daily, I know since other people have been commenting too! ( Always great when someone notices )

I needed to offload on the information I had as I know many people suffer from skin issues and I know from experience that these really do work! Let me know in the comments below if you do any of these or if you have any other tips that have worked for you.
